4to. 10 x 7.5 inches. 175 pp. Bound in quarter green cloth with black titles, over pictorial coloured boards. A little wear to extremities, including corners and head and tail of spine, and some page edge foxing; otherwise a very good clean copy. Illustrated by 24 colour plates including frontispiece. This edition of Alice in Wonderland is notable for the quality of the watercolours by Margaret Winifred Tarrant (1888-1959), the talented illustrator and author of children's books from 1908-52. The Ward Lock edition first appeared in 1916.
