Two of the three acts are set in Hawkhurst. A smartly bound presentation copy inscribed on, and incorporating, the half-title: To Miss Marjorie Dawson in old days just 'Peggy' from the author of her namesake:- ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN PEGGY in both old days, and these, & in future days, - her friend Ernest Denny. Dec: 2. 1910. Loosely inserted is a two-page letter of the same date from Denny to Marjorie on his printed notepaper. This play was subsequently made into a silent movie with Marguerite Clark and Jack Mulhall and was one in a number of movies made from Denny's original plays.
