Notes
A verse satire in three dialogues between Polypus and Scriblerus, mocking the short lived Whig administration of 1806-07 known as The Ministry of All the Talents. It was a short lived bestseller, appearing in nineteen editions in 1807 alone. Writing under the pseudonym of his character, Polypus, it was the work of Eaton Stannard Barrett (1786-1820), an Irish poet, who published a number of satires, 1807-15. All the Talents is dedicated to 'The Emperor of China' and includes extensive annotations to the text by the author.
