The earlier output of the artist, David Hockney, edited by Nikos Stangos (1936-2004), who was art editor at Thames and Hudson. The introductory essay is by Henry Geldzahler (1935-94), Belgian born US art historian who was Curator of Twentieth Century Art at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York and Commissioner of Cultural Affairs, New York City.
