8vo. 8.25 x 5.75 inches. 104 pp. Bound in original black cloth, gilt, with block of arms, in pictorial dust wrapper, which has edge wear and tears; otherwise a very good copy. Inscribed by author on first free endpaper. Illustrated by black and white photographs, including portrait frontispiece. Decorated by arms on verso of frontispiece. The history of Dover College Junior School to 1982. Dover College is an independent day and boarding school in the public school tradition, founded in 1871 on the medieval site of Dover Priory. From 1947 to 1968 the Junior School occupied a site at Shorncliffe Road, Folkestone, which was named Westbrook House. These premises continued as a preparatory school until 2008 when it closed. The author, Charles Whitney was a former local historian.
