The House of Commons debated the evils of the Lottery and 'The Occupiers of Lands lying in the Level of Romney Marsh are hereby required to pay their next Quarter's Marshland or Wall Scot, at Newhall, in Dymchurch...assessed at Six-Pence an acre.'
