FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 9.25 x 7 inches. xxx + [ii} + 104 pp. Contents list on title page. Bound in original brown cloth, gilt, with contrasting black title label, gilt. A very good copy. Illustrated by 96 plates of Lamb drawings and designs in colour and black and white and by vignettes in Introduction and at end. A selection of the art work of Lynton Lamb (1907-77), book designer, illustrator and lithographer. It includes some of his work for the Orient Line and The World's Classics dust wrappers. At the end is a Check List of Books with illustrations by him. Lamb worked on camouflage during the War and later exhibited work at the Festival of Britain and designed the high value Castles set of postage stamps. The Introduction, which includes The Life of Lamb, is by his fellow book designer and illustrator, George Mackie (1920-2020).
