12mo. 5.75 x 3.75 inches. 374 pp. COPY LACKS TITLE AND ENGRAVED TITLE PAGES. Bound in later half green morocco, gilt, over marbled boards. Edges darkened and occasional scattered foxing, but otherwise a very good copy. Pocket edition of the account of the royalist and anti-republican uprising in the Vendee (1793-1832). By the Marquise de La Rochejaquelein (1772-1857), wife of one of leaders of the royalist risings in the south west. English translation first published by Constable, 1816, second edition 1817. This copy has only the half title page at the front.
