Minor wear and sunning of extremities and a little spotting of fore edge and rear flyleaf; otherwise a very good clean copy. Signed by author below limited edition statement. Illustrated by frontispiece. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. Signed limited edition story by Alfred Edgar Coppard (1878-1957), born in Folkestone, who overcame the poverty of his upbringing and moved to Oxford as a clerk in 1907. In 1919, he gave up his paid employment to set up as a full time writer, his first short story collection being published by the Golden Cockerel Press in 1921. He became to be regarded as one of the most accomplished and original short story writers of his time.
