Joseph Mery (1798-1865) was a French romantic poet, novelist and librettist. The chapter, Comme on s'instruit en voygeant, (vol.2) reports a dialogue between two seasick passengers en route from Naples to Livorno, which, for the author, was 'beaucoup plus amusantes pour moi que le spectacle de Livourne et de la mer.'
Scarce and hard to find.
