Dover castle garrisoned.

Notes
A very comprehensive and detailed account of the garrisons at Dover Castle from 1166 until 1958 when the last garrison, the 1st Battalion Queen's Own Cameron Highlanders, removed to Connaught Barracks. A small picket was in place until 1961, and in 1963 the castle was turned over to the civilian authorities. The value of the book may be judged by the opinion of Professor Richard Holmes, the military historian, who in his foreword says " This is a little gem of a book..."
