The Church Of England Defended Against The Calumnies And False Reasoning Of The Church Of Rome. In Answer To A Late Sophistical, And Insolent, Popish Book; Entitled England’s Conversion And Reformation Compar’d Etc..

TRAPP, JOSEPH..

Signature of inscription cut from the front free end paper which would have no doubt explained the undoubtedly elaborate binding and extra large paper. I think it most likely to have been intended as the dedication copy, or for presentation by the author. Bound in a fine dark blue/black morocco, in the Harleian style, in an extremely elaborate binding with the extra gilt harmonious and extremely well executed in the manner of All edges gilt, apart from the spine, having faded and which has at some time been rebacked.
