Loosely inserted: 7 press cuttings, including 5 of 1931 reviews and a press advertisement for the title. Illustrated by 6 wood engravings by R. A. Garnett, including 6 whole page and title page and endpiece vignettes. Short novel relating a plane crash and its aftermath with a subtext of locusts, by David Garnett (1892-1981) author and editor and a member of the Bloomsbury Group, whose autobiography, the Golden Echo, was published in three volumes, 1953-62. The wood engravings are by his wife, Ray Garnett (1891-1940), who illustrated her husband's work (Selborne, British Wood-Engraved Book Illustration 1904-40).
