Notes
A much expanded version of the guide first published in 1828; comparing the two shows that much has changed in the growing harbour and watering place - most of all, the South-Eastern Railway, the wonder of the age, had arrived. A full description of this is included and from the text and adverts an interesting picture emerges of nineteenth century life in Dover.
