[4] + 572 pp. Bound in original red cloth, with gilt and black titles and block on front board of silhouette on gilt roundel, in dust wrapper, which has a few small stains and edge wear including loss at tail of spine, with advertising text on inner flaps and rear wrapper. Front lower corner bumped, but otherwise a very good copy. Large but neat 1927 gift inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated by 20 tipped in colour plates, including frontispiece, all protected by captioned tissue guards, and by vignette title. Pictorial endpapers. Large format edition of David Copperfield, illustrated by the artist, Frank Reynolds (1876-1953). He illustrated several other titles by Dickens and also worked for Punch and other magazines. Scarce copy in dust wrapper.
