The Breadalbane, part of an expedition to search for the lost Franklin North West Passage expedition of HM ships, Erebus and Terror, 1845-48, herself sank in Canadian Arctic waters, off Beechey Island, in 1854. This book relates the discovery of the wreck, the northernmost known, in 1980 and the subsequent exploration by a diving crew led by the author. Dr Joseph Beverly MacInnis (b.1937) was the first scientist to dive in freezing Arctic waters and in 1985 took part in the discovery of the wreck of RMS Titanic. A revised edition of his The Breadalbane Adventure (Montreal, 1982).
