Illustrated by 8 tipped in colour plates mounted on captioned pages. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. A systematic reference work comprising a catalogue of fifty six sporting print artists, each biographical entry including a chronological list of their engraved works. Appendices give details of publishers, engravers, sporting artists and race horses. First edition published 1925. In a note to the new edition, Mrs Violet Siltzer acknowledges the assistance of George Harvey in the extensive revision of the work by her late husband, former Grenadier Guard and author of Newmarket (1923).
