Notes
In the 1892 General Election it was the local man, Boscawen, the Conservative and Unionist candidate who won the Tonbridge seat in an election dominated by the Irish question. Although the Conservatives won more seats they did not have an overall majority over Gladstone's Liberals and the Irish Parliamentary party together, so that Gladstone formed a minority government. This anonymously printed handbill also gives the results of the previous elections for Kent (Mid), 1868, 1874 and 1880 and for the Tonbridge Division, 1885 and 1886.
