FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 8.75 x 6.25 inches. xiv + 336 pp. Bound in original green buckram, gilt, in pictorial non-clipped dust wrapper, which has edge chips at head and tail of spine. A little foxing of flyleaves, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 48 colour, 24 black and white pages of plates and by 43 maps at end. Decorated by New Naturalist device on title page.
