FIRST EDITION. 8vo. 7.5 x 5.25 inches. xi + [v] + 158 + [2] pp. Bound in original blue cloth with black titles and blocks, in unique hand made dust wrapper, with original drawings and gift inscription from Ted, with worn edges and sunned spine. Board edges and spine sunned and flyleaves browned; otherwise a very good copy Illustrated throughout by the drawings of E. H. Shepard, some whole page, including frontispiece. Decorated by the artist's vignettes on title page and verso of dedication page and by publisher's device on verso of title. Winnie-The-Pooh with the classic combination of writer, A. A. Milne (1882-1956) and artist, Ernest H. Shepard (1879-1976). They had previously collaborated in contributions to Punch magazine and in Milne's verse collection, When We were Very Young (1924). First edition published 1926.
